I don't get it. Other than you being a homophobe, how can you possibly take Kerry's words about Mary Cheney to be either an insult to Mary Cheney or an invasion of family privacy. Mary is lesbian. I am gay. It isn't an insult when people point that out, and Kerry's reference was in answer to a question. In fact, he answered THE question. You actually said Kerry mentioning Mary being lesbian was heinous. Henous? Mass murder is heinous. Mentioning that someone who is lesbian when they openly gay, when her family talks about it on the campaign trail, when her father stated it on national TV, isn't even offensive let alone heinous. Lynn Cheney's reaction is over the top. If she is embarrassed by her daughter that is her problem. If you think mentioning the "L" word is heinous that's your problem. None of this is Kerry's problem unless you media midgets try to make it one.

"But on one point, Kerry was disgraceful, and that is too weak a word. His mention of Cheney's daughter was gratuitous and heinous. I agree completely with Mrs. Cheney, who said tonight, "This is not a good man. This is coming from a mom. What a cheap and tawdry political trick."
Kerry may have won the night, but in my mind, he erased any sense that he deserved to win." -- Dick Meyer CBS Commentator
