I realize some of you might blast or even troll rate me (despite my lifetime liberal outspokenness), but I have had enough of Rep. Martin Frost's campaign here in Texas.
In my shaking hands, I'm holding official campaign literature from Frost that proudly announces "President Bush & Congressman Frost. Protecting America. Doing what's right to keep us safe."
I'm sorry, but this crosses the line. I will never vote for a Republican ever again. And, I believe that removing Bush from office is the most important objective that we may be faced with during our lifetimes. But, I will never put a Democrat in office that is attempting to ride the coattails of Bush.
Don't lecture me - stating that any Democrat is better than a Republican. I'm not going there. I won't be voting for his opponent, Pete Sessions - he's a bigger snake than Martin. And don't tell me that a no vote for Martin plays into the hands of the Republicans.
I struggled to put a Frost sign in my front yard despite my knowledge of his support for Bush over Iraq, but I assumed things had changed. But they haven't.
Simply put, one of the reasons I'm proud to be a liberal is my belief in doing what is right, and not letting party affiliation dictate a blind vote. If I were to vote for Frost on that simple premise, I'd be doing the same thing that I despise Repugs for - lock stepping to party dictates.
So, with some sorrow, I walked out and pulled the sign from my yard. I can't allow a supporter of W to soil my property. This bi-partisan theme bullshit doesn't cut it in these times.
"President Bush & Martin Frost. Bipartisan leadership to keep us safe."
Folks, you can keep him. Another Zell Miller in the making.
