Apologies if this has already been posted, but Moveon has a kickass ad, which if run straight through the election could turn it into a rout.
The link to the ad is at http://www.moveonpac.org (note it's the link to PAC, not the member site). Here's vid-caps with much more following...
The ad begins with a split-screen of the debate with Kerry saying: "Six months after he said Osama bin Laden must be caught dead or alive, this President was asked where's Osama bin Laden and he said, 'I don't know, I don't really think about him very much. I'm not that concerned'."
The screen fades to black and comes up on Bush's response: "Um, gosh, I don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden. It's kinda one-a those exagerations." (Note: the vid's worth seeing just for the wierd way Bush intones ex-ag-er-ations).
Then over a silent video of Bush at a press conference the narrator says, "The truth is, on March 13th 2002 George Bush, in response to a question about why Osama bin Laden hadn't been brought to justice, said..."
The sound comes up on Bush saying, "I don't know where he is... I, uh, heh-heh-heh... I... I, I repeat what I said I truly am not that concerned about him."
The screen freezes and the narrator concludes over a matching graphic... "George Bush: Still Misleading America."
This is the most powerful anti-Bush ad yet.
It accomplishes the hardest of tasks -- having Bush show himself as a liar who will say anything to keep his job. And it should run repeatedly up to and including November 2.
Better yet, it has that great cringe factor for Bush supporters -- they will cringe every time they see or hear it and be hoping to God that nobody is paying attention to it.
Word should be spread to everyone you know. Try to get the major mis-media to cover it (after all the time they spent giving free air time to the Swift Boat Liars pressure should be brought to bear for them to air this). DONATE to MoveOn. With some proactive pushing, this could turn into the number one topic going into the election.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any information on the site about where and when this will air. Anybody have any info, and can we do whatever we can to let MoveOn know to go with this full bore?
p.s. Hope this isn't against Kos rules but if you agree could you please recommend this diary by hitting the recommend button on the right of this page. I'd love to see this build into a movement. Thanks.
