Gosh, I don't want to sound jingo-istic, but I am really tired of Bush's Fear for America Tour.
From Cheney's comments to the latest wolf ad (which has furry critters, so our beloved american news corp will talk about it for the next century), Bush is just bashing us over the head with this fear thing.
Excuse me for thinking, but isn't fear a tool of terrorism? Someone please explain to me how Bush's Fear Tour isn't promoting the terrorist cause.
Anyway, the counterattack here is easy. Get some Americans from the heartland, the leftland, and the rightland, put them in front of a camera, and have them say these words:
"Mr. President. I am an American. I am not afraid."
Because I don't quite get why this fear strategy is working.
Aren't we supposed to be a courageous people? Don't these Bush ads imply that Americans are easily swayed by fear?
Screw that.
I want a secure America, and I want to see terrorists brought to justice, but I am not going to tuck my tail between my legs and run.
Cuz, for real ... I am an American, and I am not afraid.
