Canada's not alone among North American countries in beating the U.S.A. in flu preparedness.
That's right. Led, as usual, by opportunistic Texans, we're finding a way to keep flu vaccine supplies short -- even across the border!

Two major pharmacy chains in the Mexican city of Reynosa, across from McAllen, Texas, said Friday they were struggling to find supplies of commercial vaccines to meet a growing demand from Americans crossing the border.
"Right now the demand is coming not from Mexico but from the United States, and supplies are very scarce on the market," said Jose anuel Hernandez, a branch manager of the 18-strong Benavides chain of pharmacies in Reynosa.
Antonio Ruiz, a store manager with Benavides' local rival Regis pharmacies, which has 22 stores in Reynosa, said it had supplies of Fluzone but was concerned about securing fresh batches if American demand continued to increase.
"Right now we are getting about 10 customers a day from the United States. If more come from Texas, we won't have enough supplies," Ruiz said.
Good thing we have Mexico to turn to, and aren't stuck with those third-world vaccines from Canada. <whew>
