My mother, brother and I just got back from early voting here in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a relief to see voting machines with a paper trail and a lot of people at the polls. From looking at the people there I would (cautiously) assume most were Kerry/Edwards voters (including the lesbian couple in front of me!).
I joined my first political campaign last year in the fall when I worked for Gov. Dean's presidential run. After the primaries ended I wasn't sure if I could support Kerry/Edwards after all the things that had gone on. But after seeing the Bush/Cheney campaign in action (running nothing but negative attack ads against Kerry) for this past year I'm whole heartedly voting for change by voting for Kerry/Edwards. Would I have rather been voting for a Dean/Clark ticket?
Ofcourse but that's politics and I don't think Kerry/Edwards is going to be Bush-lite (we'll all hold their feet to the fire and make sure that they aren't!).
This is the first presidential election I've voted in and I've never been as passionate about removing a president from office as George W. Bush. I'm fairly confident that our side is going to win in November and that a Kerry/Edwards win will benefit everyone not just those who voted for him.
