I thought someone in the dKos community might be able to help out my friend's mother. She is a senior living in Dekalb County near Atlanta Georgia. She went to early voting yesterday to vote for John Kerry, bringing her proof of voter registration from the 2002 election.
She was not allowed to vote.
She was told that she had failed to reply to a letter sent by the voter registration office a few months ago, and was removed from the registration list. She has not moved in YEARS, she voted in 2002, she had proof of that registration, and as she told the people at early voting, she would absolutely 100% have remembered that "letter", as this election is so important for her.
Not good enough. She was shunted aside. She feels like giving up. We are not going to let her give up though! Any suggestions as to what she can do now would be GREATLY appreciated.
