Who is going to put dKos donations at
ActBlue over the $500k level?
As of right noon Eastern time, we are at $482,540.20. This is an impressive number. But heck, there are about 25k registered users (right?), and how many unique hits per day? 200k? 400k? I lost track.
I was out raking leaves the other day, and a woman driving by and seeing my yard sign asked if I was doing more "besides just the sign." I told her of my (relatively meager) efforts, and she said she felt very guilty for not being more involved, she really wants to support Kerry. (We live in a very blue state, so have to travel a bit to work in a swing state). She was very concerned. I told her that, while I'm still a little nervous, Kerry will win. As for donating and volunteering: We all do what we can. She seemed relieved to hear both of these assessments.
... more inside...
I've always maintained that the most valuable thing someone can give is their own time. The countless diaries I've read here detailing the trials and tribulations of campaign volunteering have been awe-inspiring. I have given a little time (job and young kids are limiting - not that I'd trade `em for a second!), but some of you are on the front lines seemingly every day.
That's what is so amazing about this site - everyone is doing what they can to contribute.
I salute all of you! You are all my heroes! Come Nov. 2, hope is on the way! Come January '05, the whole country will reap the rewards of your hard work.
