John Zogby's on the Daily Show as I type. John Stewart asked him who's gonna win. He said, without hesitation, "Kerry. My numbers just went up. The latest numbers just went up." He added that Bush's approval ratings are too low for an incumbent and that undecideds tend to break in favor of the challenger.
Update [2004-10-29 1:30:23 by jimbo2d2]: Just watched again. He was joking about the number going up. He meant his [Zogby's] numbers went up after announcing Kerry would win. Not that polls showed anything dramatically new
This is unrelated, but I was thinking today about charges that Bush is nation-building even though he said:
I don't think our troops ought to be used for what's called nation-building. . . . I think what we need to do is convince people who live in the lands they live in to build the nations. Maybe I'm missing something here. I mean, we're going to have a kind of nation-building corps from America? Absolutely not.(2000 debate, 10/11/2000)
What Bush is doing, however-intentioned can not be called "Nation-building." Maybe nation-trashing...
