From the Clark blog:
Just heard something strange from the postal carrier who serves our office building (in a college town, in Michigan). He said that at a meeting first thing this morning all the postal workers at his facility got told that it's mandatory that they work from 6 AM to 6 PM tomorrow, Election Day - no reason given. He was upset that by the time he leaves work he will barely have time to make it to his hometown to vote. Is this happening across the USPS? Just in battleground states? Or is it just a very local thing? Work a 12 hour shift on Election Day, with less than 24 hours notice! What's going on here?
Has anyone else heard of this? I'm fairly certain this is illegal.
