I think this is a critical issue. I've just finished writing my congresspersons about it, making it very clear as to why damn near universal opposition to this clearly points out their political direction.
People are talking about an issue to base a common-cause arrangement with moderate Republicans? This is it. It's a stand their bases will demand, and it has the virtue of being a no-brainier for anyone who respects the Constitution.
The administration has tried to sneak this by, for reasons that can be assumed to be unrighteous, unholy, morally repugnant, and beneficial to the pharmaceutical industry alone. If them.
