Haven't seen a Turkey Day thankful diary so here it is. Tell everyone what you are thankful for, just as you would as you sit around the dining room table or while your watching the football game.
On this day of remembering the Native Americans that tried to offer their friendship to foreigners, before we ended up perpetuating a war of genocide against Native Americans, I am thankful that this country has grown beyond its beginnings. I am thankful that women can vote. That blacks and other minorities aren't referred to as percentages of a human. I am thankful that 55 million people voted for the continuing evolution and tolerance fostered by this nation. I am thankful that most of us have a roof over our heads and food on the table. I am thankful for all the volunteers who give up their holidays to try and make them a better day for the less fortunate. And I thank every one here who made it possible for me to stay sane over the last few months.
Happy Thanksgiving.
