The voters today have rejected Kerry's radical liberal agenda and have endorsed Bush's centrist-conservative position. This is truly a great day for Democracy.
I see the revisionists on this web site are already claiming that the vote didn't reflect the exit polling results. However, they are basing their claims on exit polling released early in the day which may or may not be legitimate. The final exit polling was well within the margin of error. For example Bush had 51% in the exit poll in Florida and won 52% of the vote. Kerry on the other hand scored 47% in the exit poll and got 47% of the vote.
You can calculate the exit poll results from the CNN
website. Take the male turnout (46%) convert it to a decimal (0.46), and the males voting for Bush (53%) and convert that to a decimal (0.53). Multiply these two figures together (0.24). Repeat this procedure for the Female vote (0.27) and add this to the Male vote (0.24). The result (0.51) converted to a percentage (51%) is the exit poll vote for the particular candidate (Bush).
One explanation for the early exit polling information differing so differently from the final exit polling information is that someone may of leaked false data to spook the betting markets. On tradesports Bush's price dropped to 0.25 from 0.75 after early exit polling was released. In other words someone could bet 25 units to win 75 units on top of their original 25 units. Someone could of made an enormous amount of money (at very little risk) by releasing bad early exit polling data. In fact, as a rich Republican I bought a few (snigger) contracts at 0.25 and sold them off at 0.96.
I also see that some Democrats still believe that Kerry can still make the votes back in Ohio. Bush is up by 140,000 votes and there is probably 250,000 votes left to count. Kerry would have to win 78% of the remaining vote to win! There is no way this is going to happen. Then again moments ago some of you were deluding yourselves that Kerry would make back 100,000 votes in Ohio with 10% of the vote to count. If any of you bothered to look at all the counties in Ohio and calculated the expected value of each county based on the current vote you would of realised at that point that Bush would of been up at 140,000 at the end of the vote.
I hope that after the remaining votes in Ohio are counted and Bush is elected that everyone on this site will accept him as the President.
