I think we should boycott the news media until we have our very own Faux News Channel. I, for one, have never really been too bothered by the bias on Fox. At least I know what to expect and they are being true to their base viewers. All the others are bunch of punks and we should NOT support them. Of course there are exceptions. I happen to love both Keith Olberman and Aaron Brown. But, that's it. The rest of them can kiss my ass. Chris Matthews is officially off my TIVO Season Pass. Same for Inside Politics, Meet The Press and the rest.
more ranting after the break...
Where is Al Gore's station? I know he claims that he claims that it will not be a liberal outfit, but I think (hope) that is bullshit.
The Repugs have master all the tricks of Hollywood. They solidify and reinforce their base via their news. They micromanage the image of their candidate to speak to their audience. Meanwhile, we rely on the reality-based message and serious, substantive candidates. We are right, of course, but they were more effective this time around. So, we need to step up our game.
Air America was the first step.
The next step is to totally shut out the on-air news media. NOW. Forge the temptation. Read about it online. Fuck the rotten bastards.
Then we need to work on our language and framing. We already own the issues. We just have to market and sell them.
All the while we need to develop charismatic leaders (preferably Governors) to make the pitch.
