it's not blue and red anymore, that's done with. i never liked it anyways - blue is royal and capital and red is labor, why the hell did US newspapers have to turn it all "unideological" and shit? this new map reflects the feelings of many of us midwesterners, perhaps...
such is life, you win, you lose. and lose, and lose, and lose, and lose. or so it seems. but it ain't quite that way. and it sure ain't the fuck that way if you figure things out based on what cha see on TV. turn it off, the "news" at least, till jan. 22 at least. that's what i might try... or, well, maybe...
maybe things will got hot already before that. one can hope. and if that happens i might have to turn it back on... but if not, just turn it off. get more art, get news from blogs and elsewhere. meet back with those you contacted. get rid of the fucking electronic voting.
back to the map. yeah, it can only be a joke, i know, that's fine. we are Americans too. it's a lie to deny. but we are, at least most of these readers i think, we are slightly different Americans. we are midwesterners. i know, it ain't really the midwest (a st. louisian convinced me of that). truly we're the middle north and maybe we should get our name straight. but right now we got something else to attend to. that's giving all respect to the upper middle west ~minnesota~wisconsin~illinois~michigan~.

even the hicks out in Stoughton, who have the hickest Wisconsin backwoods accents you've ever heard, even those guys the hicks in stoughton wisconsin? they
represented too, supporting Kerry and Feingold in rates higher than the state average.
Maybe you see my point coming? You've heard it here before. Well, now it's more serious and meaningful - the rightwingnuts are right. the spirit and hope of this nation lies in the heartland. but not the red heartland, the blue heartland. the stubborn few blues that hold on in the land of red. We support liberals and we don't back down. I KNOW we aren't perfect but i know that we seem to offer a great solution for this nation.
The claim of many Democrats is that we need to further abandon "liberalism" and we should "reach out" to the Red states. We liberals are to abandon our "elite" cultural politics and speak in terms of "values." Midwestern liberals cannot be labeled elite, they can't be labeled flip floppers, they are of color or support and attract constituents of color. Some of them are mayors of major cities who support both religion and gay rights. Fuck Giuliani, we want Daley as the Mayor of the USA. let Iowa County, as rural a county in Wisconsin as any other, be a model for Dems - Kerry 57% - 43%. ((okay, okay, i know i have to mention Waukesha and Washington counties sooner or later- going almost 70 -30 for Bush, ugh. believe me, i know. that's where i grew up! so glad i survived and emerged...))
We have culture, we have diversity, we have art of the highest order. We need to step up as midwesterners and figure out what we do right and communicate that to our fellow citizens. This is my theme and focus now. I am out to change the language. First thing?
Dick Durbin for Senate Minority Leader. Are you wondering why i'm going so whole hog? Well, it's the only way i can look at the effort we gave, at the hope we invested, and at the people i call my friends and family and think, "No Mr. Bush, WE won." We won were I live and people need to know why. We protested the war, protested the Patriot Act, faught for health care, unions, gays and lesbians, affirmative action, and the environmnent. We get it done. The nation calls for us to do even more now. I know not all my readers are midwesterners, but most all of you have visited i'm sure. In that time, i'm sure you could feel somewhat like you were welcome. So you can feel free to feel welcome in all this too. You are what makes the midwest what it is. Like all of the US, we are a land of migrants.
Oh, and one last thing. Nelly?? Hello!!! - get your fellow Missourians on the motherfuckin' wagon, you hear? Eminem is moving people, yo. what are you doing, beyond wearing a fuh-reakin' band aid on yo' face?
