My humble proposal:
Let's identify which media outlets are not on "our" side. Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. We'll call them the "Red" media.
Now, let's look at the media that seems to be doing its job -- Knight Ridder, Christian Science Monitor, NewsHour. We'll call them the "Blue" media.
Let's support the Blue media. Let's ignore the Red media. No more linking to them, no more discussing what they are saying (with the exception of the watchdogs who will continue to monitor them).
Continued below...
The Media is analogous to Schrodinger's cat. They exist to be observed. If no one is paying attention to them (especially the "bloggers"), they will recognize this and begin to pander to us. Well, maybe not, but since the "bloggers" are the wave of the future, they have been paying attention to us (especially since some bloggers have been doing the real investigative journalism work lately).
I say a general boycott of their "news" is in order.
I also support identifying their advertisers and boycotting them, but I think that would fall under the "Red and Blue Businesses" thread that has been brought up here previously.
Update [2004-11-5 12:16:28 by slidge]: I forgot to add this in initial post, but if we continue to discuss the Red Media and use thier "news", we are really just part of the problem.
