ABC News World News Tonight just had a segment on the election fraud conspiracies that we have been talking about.
They basically said that those counties in Florida that were heavily Democratic but voted for Bush actually have a history of voting for Republican Presidents since at least 1992 in a lopsided manner. Admittedly it was not as lopsided but it was still pretty lopsided.
For example in Lafayette county 2460 people voted for Bush and 845 voted for Kerry but 82.8% of the voters are registered Democrats and 13.2% Republicans. Shown here:

What they showed is that in 2000 Bush got 1670 votes and Gore got 845 votes. There were 89.7% registered Democrats and 7.8% registered Republicans. It can be seen here:

There was a similar pattern in 1992 and 1996 but less pronounced.
Peter Jennings said that they did this because they were bombarded with email and wanted to lighten the email load. Great job in forcing him to cover it!
They also debunked other common fraud theories as well, like the overvote in Cuyuagha (spelling?) County in Ohio.
They also said that Democraic congressmen who sent a letter to the GAO asked for an investigation but the reporter didn't seem to think that would be a big deal since the democrats are primarily looking to improve the voting in the future. That is what Rep. John Conyers said last night on Keith Olberman's show.
I listened to Al Franken on Air America today and he said that he investigated all these theories and didn't find anything to them. He then went on to say that we should stop living in the past and not be conspiracy theorists. We should work to improve our ability to take back the White House because we are fact based not faith based or conspiracy based.
So you can stop overloading news organizations with email. You did a fine job of getting them to address it, but it seems that there is nothing there, unfortunately. We have to accept defeat no matter how bitter and work to improve the party instead. Let the healing begin!
