Local News on the race:

I have mixed feelings on Cox. She stated that the election here was error-free because it was run on the voting machines. You can kind of see the flawed logic there. Most fradulent elections have been identified in part because of paper trails. GA quickly switched to Diebold after 2000 and something weird happened here on Election Day 2002, after newspaper polls and exit polls showed Democrats Max Cleland and Gov. Roy Barnes leading by comfortable margins(I think it was 5 and 7 respectively), they were tossed out by significant margins(Barnes by 5, Cleland by 7).
On the other hand, as mentioned in the article, if the GOP wants her out of the race, they must be sightly scared. As noted, she supports Cynthia McKinney, John Kerry, and gay marriage. Of course, this came from a GOP consultant, so we'll have to see what she says herself. The fear of the GOP might come from the Zogby poll that showed her and Gov. Perdue tied at 41, with the Republican incumbent leading Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor by just 3%. I hope he gets the nomination for gov personally.
Perdue isnt very popular. He can be beaten. I believe in Dean's "50 state strategy." Governors are important, especially in the South. Mark Warner, Mike Easley, and Phil Bredesen have showen Dems can win in governor's races in the South. GA will certainly not be high on anyone's Governor's target list, but pick-ups in AL and GA by Dems will show we can compete.
