I have just posted a comment on a diary considering the increased danger to which pregnant women are susceptible in light of one of the most horrific murders we've seen in ages. I was the 9th poster, 10th if you count my comment on the hair-growing silence of this community. Also, does it say something that the Size 6 thread, which arguably in its extremity invites discussion on the sexual attractiveness of women, gets so much attention?
I don't understand. When it comes to an issue dealing with women's rights, safety, existence, interests, I hear crickets. But there are staggering numbers of posts on Ohio threads on a daily basis. So many, in fact, that they have the feel and quality of perseveration in adults--not a good thing. But that's a topic for another day.
I wonder if we were to see diary entries dealing specifically with men's issues....say, child support, abortion "rights" for men, feminism and the trashing of the male image, etc., whether or not we'd be able to climb over the double digit post threshold. Anyone wanna take that wager?
I'll take this wager, though: if someone were to put up a diary about international maternal morbidity or quality child care on the domestic front, hardly more people than the legal age to drink would post on it. Indeed, a diary on the legal age to drink might engender more interest.
Enlighten me, please.
