dick cheney is an elusive figure. he no longer hides in his undisclosed location 24/7, but that's not what i'm talking about.
is he the kind of CEO who makes everyone read "who moved my cheese?" to create a false sense of vision? or is he an aging government apparatchik who has made good on his connections to prosper in the business world?
he doesn't just make liberal use of washington's revolving door between contracting authority and contractor, he seems to have become the revolving door...
the number and sheer audacity of big lies needed to call him vice president instead of gangster-in-chief gives us pause. whether it's the corruption of the contracting process that fills halliburton's coffers, or the corruption of the intelligence complex to give the answers he wanted on iraq before the war, the crimes are right out there in plain sight. but the press and the people act as if nothing is there, because its enormity stands out like a giraffe walking through rush-hour crowds in tokyo. you see it, but somehow you just can't believe it's really happening.
so you go back to sleep. siesta time, compadre. sitting there on the corner, you just mind your own business, you try to keep your head down and hope they don't steal your sombrero.
