I wanted to collect some maps I made of Cuyahoga County Ohio voting patterns in one place. Generally they show a strong correlation to the black population in a precinct.

Distribution of Kerry precincts and Bush precincts
MORE...
Distribution of spoiled ballots
These are ballots deemed to not have a valid vote for president (no vote, multiple votes):
Sometimes such ballots are referred to as undervotes. There were 12,953 such ballots in the county, 2% of the total. Across Ohio there were 92,672.
Distribution of certified provisional ballots
This map shows the distribution of precincts where the number of certified (accepted) provisional ballots exceeded 5% of the total ballots cast in the precinct:
Note that these data points represent people who were made to fill out provisional ballots even though they were registered to vote and were at the correct precinct, otherwise their provisional ballot would not have been ultimately certified.
Voting problems reported to http://voteprotect.org
On election day voteprotect.org ran a hotline for people nationwwide to report votig problems (1-866-OUR-VOTE). Each call was assigned a case number and entered into their database. This map shows the distribution of the problems in Cuyahoga County in the "machine problem" and "long lines" categories:
Here is a spreadsheet with the details of the reported problems.
Distribution of third-party vote
The third-party candidates got very few legitimate votes. However, in several precincts the vote total for one or the other was highly anomalous. A diary here shows how this is caused by mixing up punchard ballots between precincts sharing the same polling place: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/12/2/44647/2043 Also: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/12/3/122639/759
This map shows how the ballot mixups are distributed:
One voteprotect.org problem report documented such an error for the polling location at Cory United Methodist Church:
"People from the H line were dropping ballots into the G Box because poll workers were moving people to a different line. Voter noticed mistake and alerted election inspector. Don't know what was done to correct it." (EIRS case #047393)
Such mixups cause erroneous votes to be recorded for the wrong candidates because the ballot order, per Ohio law, is rotated between precincts. This precinct (Cleveland 8G) reported 51 votes for Badnarik, highly unusual. Here is the EIRS incident report
Voting blocs in Cuyahoga County
Since blacks, blue collar whites and rural/exurban whites tended to vote in favor os issue 1 (the gay marriage ban), the combination of Bush/Kerry support and issue 1 support allows some interesting dissection of voting blocs.
rich conservatives: for Bush, against issue 1
urban liberal sophisticates: for Kerry, against issue 1
blacks: for Kerry >70%, for issue 1
blue collar whites: for Kerry 50-70%, for issue 1
rural/exurban whites: for Bush, for issue 1
