Gore/Dean '04

1. Everyone can see that Kerry is the likely nominee.
2. Anyone can also see, however, that events could take an unexpected turn.
3. Kerry could still stumble badly.  For one thing he has what my teenage daughter calls "ick factor."  As Gore Vidal says, "Kerry looks a lot like Lincoln -- after the assassination."
4. Though very unlikely, the combined forces of Edwards, Dean and Clark could conspire to deny Kerry a majority of delegates going into the convention.  
5. The best outcome of a brokered convention would be a Gore/Dean ticket.  Gore now seems to have lit some fire in his belly.  Yesterday he said that Bush betrayed our country and that the war on Iraq was planned before 9/11.  
6. A Gore/ Dean ticket would give us the best of both worlds: Dean's backbone and Gore's "electability."   (Since Gore won the last election, even the Florida recount, I presume that electability would not be a big issue.)
7. With a Gore/Dean ticket everything else falls into place.  Clark becomes Secretary of Defense.  Sharpton takes over at the FCC.  Kucinich is Secretary of State.  Mosley Braun becomes the head of HEW.  Edwards is Atorney General.  Hilary is appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.  John Conyers takes over as  National Security Advisor.  As director of the Veterans Administration, Kerry gets the posiiton he deserves.
