Don't mind me. And don't ask why I would read that bilefest, lucianne.com. I don't normally. But I did today, out of curiosity, to see what the creepy, rabid
freakshow was saying about Kerry:
I think John Kerry will be an easy opponent for Bush. I think that's why the White House isn't fighting back strongly about the National Guard business -- I think they want to suck Democrats in and make them think this will be a really effective issue against Bush, so the Dems will be sure to nominate Kerry. Then -- whack!
In other words, the Republicans haven't pulled out all the stops against Kerry, because they want to make sure he's selected. Why? Because...
If I were were a used car salesman, I'd drool every time a Democratic primary voter stepped foot on my lot. These people seem incapable of taking a close look under the hood.
...democrats haven't really examined Kerry's record. Because...
This whole thing is a mystery to me. Why Kerry? Democrat primary voters have one thing in common: they're easily led and are so enraged at Bush that they have lost all rationality. Kerry's machine rumbled over them, and they responded like sheep. They saw a tall guy with thick hair who has very convenient initials, and who is a decorated war veteran. Nuff for me, they said. Well, I believe that come summer, there's gonna be a whole lotta Buyer's Remorse among the Democratic voters.
...democrats are dittoheads. This is attributed to vacuousness in the party:
They are stuck in a time warp and are fixated on GWB rather than developing any political, policy, or programmatic alternative that voters might prefer.
Simply venting their own bile at a capable president is not a winning strategy. "I'm not GWB" is not sufficient.
These criticisms seem to echo Deaniac criticisms of the Kerry candidacy as well, interestingly. There are also mentions that the "Clinton/McAuliffe DNC" was against Dean.
But, to be fair, one may question the political judgement of people who think that the recent rumours about Kerry's affairs will have the following effect:
Boy, think of all the democrats, 2% in Michigan that took the time to vote. Astounding that the dems would think this was a large number of voters. It's twice the number of votes the dem party will get in November. I predict the ticket will be Edwards-Dean or Dean-Edwards. The deal is done.
Or who are constantly obsessed with Hillary Clinton for some inexplicable reason.
If lurch is dumb enough to pick the beast for vp, people will crawl to the polls over broken glass to vote against her.
And one may find their tastes puzzling:
Kerry wishes he could BE Bush; honest, handsome, capable, loving, moral, respected.
But still, I think rabid Republicans are, in fact, capable of seeing obvious truths. The fact is, the Republican leadership is far more in tune with their most rabid following than the Democrat leadership is with theirs. I think this causes the Democrats to have to play catch-up constantly over the long term, and lose ground even when they win.
