Is it just me (and a few others around here) or has the hope, passion and excitement about sending Bush back to Crawford become hollow ?
I am having serious doubts that Kerry, or Edwards, or anybody else, can get W on that bus.
The only thing I'm fairly certain of (and totally depressed about) at this point is that Bush is going to pull Osama out of a hole, or something almost equally compelling, and make the expenditure of half a billion dollars (give or take) by ALL the Democratic Party candidates moot.
Worse, I don't know what to do about it !
I don't know anybody who is going to get all that excited about GOTV for Kerry. It's just too horrible to contemplate another 4 years of Bush, but I'm increasingly afraid that's what we're in for.
Whether the WaPo piece is right or not, whatever happened to the Dean campaign made it almost inevitable that the Democrats are wandering another 4 years in the presidential desert.
All that's left that is hopeful is the work we're going to put into the local races.
