I love the way that "Jerry Springer for Ohio" gets a stealth ad in under the auspicies of "join the debate for Ohio's future." Actually, Springer used to be a rather effective politician back in the 1960s.
This American Life did an
excellent piece on him last week. He was elected to the Cincinnati city council for close to 10 years, was Cincinnati mayor, and tried to be Ohio governor. Apparently, the Jerry Springer Show was supposed to be more Donahue-like until the ratings tanked and they went nasty on us.
It looks like the "Act For Love Personals" are going to be a weekly presence. Personally, I found last week's "Catch of the Day" a little scary looking (the quote was particularly bizarre). This week's looks a little better (but the quote's still pure dada).
Whatever happened to the website with the Faux News mugs? I kinda liked their ads...
Can anyone remember back in the day when dKos ads were in their infancy? I swear I can remember some ultra-conversative think tank's ad. Anyone else? I'm not sure what they thought dKos was, but I'm pretty sure they figured it out rather quickly.
I think FromTheRoots.org is just beggin' to be the next dKos...dunno...
