Why? BLEEX will give our boys faster movement, stronger legs, ability to carry huge loads...and shows that our military researchers are reading 50s era sci-fi. It's the nerdiest system imaginable. Those things look like leg braces! Isaac Asimov would be horrified to see the day when things like those were put on American GIs.
I'm just kidding, up to a point. DARPA, the people who brought you the terror-futures-market, have finally come up with an idea that may benefit our fighting men and women. Carrying 70 pound loads with the weight of 5 is a great idea. But does it bother anyone else that an idea that's been around for 50+ years has been recycled by the Pentagon and being sold as their own? And as a new concept, no less?
