It was at the New School and when I arrived the auditorium of 500pp was full. There were a few people outside. The communist party handed out their usual Dean dis; some people handed out stickers about the march tomorrow and on Apr 25th in DC; a few people handled out flyers about people trying to organize at the New School and the problems with Bob Kerrey (frm Sen., now head of New School).
I had to go to an overflow room which filled quickly. The doc was 1/2 hour late. I got to watch his speech on a big screen. He hit some great points, re-worked from his stump, but including comments on Madrid, & about the Medicare snafuey.
He mentioned Kerry and said he would endorse him - but the biggest applause at that point was hammering the point home - ABB. Bush must go. He's very very dangerous and radical. He also exhorted people to not Vote for Nader. He had good things to say about Ralph but he said "Voting for him helps Bush win." Pretty clear about that.
He talked about why DFA worked and works. He said "The internet is not a great tool. It's only great if you're saying something people want to hear. Then it works." He also noted that the new website will be much slower updated because they have a tiny staff to keep overhead low. He also stated that they earned $15,000 in contributions overnight without asking for a dime. Just had and active contribute button! He outlined the new or evolving parterships: 21st century democrats, SEIU, AFSCME,and others.
He was charming, garbled his words as he is wont to do, and excited us all. He is STILL the best potential president ever. Onward!
Sorry if this duplicates a previous diary.
