Okay, I'm breaking the 2 diary rule, but, I've got a lot of energy tonight. So, just this once. Ok 2nd time.
Anyway, is the Media returning to its frontrunning ways (or maybe they never stopped)? the NYT, WaPo, ABC, CBS, NBC, post-Blitzer CNN, even pretend neutral MSNBC have given Clarke very favorable treatment.
Could it be? Has the worm turned?
Mebbe. I think the Media has looked at Condi, looked at Clark, and said f-ck this, or in the immortal words of Micheal Ray Richardson (former Nets 'great') "the ship be sinkin'".
It also reminds me of a famous story about Don King.
When King first got started in boxing "promotion" (read "thievery"), he went with Joe Frazier for Joe's fight with Foreman in Jamaica in 1973. well, King is with Joe, go Joe, etc.
Well, the night of the fight, Foreman is killing Frazier, knocks him down 6 times. And the story is as the fight progressed, King moved around the arena, and when the fight was finally stopped, King had worked himself in to the Foreman entourage and jumped in the ring (he had access from Frazier!) and congratulated Foreman, lifted his arm, was seen in the pictures with Foreman.
As King puts it, he came with Frazier and he left with Foreman.
Is that what happened yesterday? Did the Media come with Condi (metaphorically) and leave with Clarke?
