Reading the news reports, one can obviously draw some obvious V.P possibilites. The most mentioned are John Edwards, Bill Richardson, Wes Clark, and Evan Bayh. No one, as of yet in the media, has focused on the possibility of a female V.P candidate.
Who would it be? Hillary Clinton has said she will not do it. Who actually would be a good female V.P choice?
Today, a news article from Louisiana mentioned Mary Landrieu as a top possibility. I'm a big fan of Mary Landrieu, but until this, had not seen anything to indicate that she was a serious V.P contender. Just a kind of "what if." She's a proven winner in the South, serving as State Treasurer and now in her second senate term. As much as I like her, I don't see her as being on the "short list."
Some other people on this site have mentioned Debbie Stabenow or Jennifer Granholm. I do not know much about them. What would they bring to the ticket? What about Dianne Feinstein? The only thing against her is that Guv Arnold would name her replacement.
I am not endorsing anyone for it. There are people I would like, and will discuss that in a later diary. I am just curious. Has anyone heard of any serious female contenders for V.P? what about the ones I've mentioned? Are they serious? Seems to me that it's a discussion worth having.
