Okay, don't yell at me, but I just went over to Ann Coulter's website, which has
a column attacking the NY Times for attacking the Passion. I know it's
du rigeur for Ann, but here's something from the column:
"Being nice to people is, in fact, one of the incidental tenets of Christianity (as opposed to other religions whose tenets are more along the lines of "kill everyone who doesn't smell bad and doesn't answer to the name Mohammed")."
Isn't this well over the line? I mean, I know she gets all her money from hysterical lies, but how could any mainstream news program, for instance, hire her after writing this? Would they hire her if she said "Judaism instructs all Jews to kill everyone not named 'Moshe'. And Jews smell bad too"?
Oddly enough, she doesn't stop there.
"If nothing else comes out of this movie, at least we finally have liberals on record opposing anti-Semitic violence. Perhaps they should broach that topic with their Muslim friends."
I don't know if Ann has any friends other than Al Franken, but all the Muslims I know are "on the record" opposing anti-Semitic violence. Furthermore, I think that liberals have been on the record opposing anti-Semitic violence for a rather long time. But if not, let me go on the record now: I oppose anti-Semitic violence.
And then there's this:
"Only a religion with millions of practitioners trying to kill Americans and Jews is axiomatically described as "peaceful" by liberals."
Are there "millions" of Muslims trying to kill Americans and Jews? What evidence does Ann have for that accusation? Oh, I forgot: she's Ann Coulter; she doesn't need evidence.
