Reading about his comments alledgly comparing Dem senate candidate Dan Mongiardo to one of Saddam Hussein's son made me realize something--this guy is old. At most, he has one term left in him? He will be 78 or 79 at the end of his next term. Is there any Dems who would stand a chance in 2010? The only folks I can think of are Chandler, Clooney if he is elected (how old is he)....
Also, what other senators are heading toward retirement age? Kennedy is getting there, Lautenberg too (obviously brought out of retirement), who else? Do the two political parties focus their attentions on races where age might be a factor in the near future? Delaware's junior senator, Tom Carper, defeated Roth due to age factors. I think that Gorton was defeated due to the same thing in Washington state by Maria Cantwell.
