The jobs attack has always been a risky one. Jobs reports could easily turn, as we saw today.
It's time for Kerry to make the #1 front the following: Bush's "say one thing and do another" presidency. I think that what did Gore in, and what Bush is trying to do Kerry in with, is THE issue that Americans will vote on. It's time for all the flip-flops, the broken campaign promises, the inconsistencies, etc. to become part of almost every speech.
Hammer Bush on saying he'd bring integrity to the White House, and doing the opposite.
Hammer him on his Lincoln Bedroom flip-flop.
Hammer him on his flip-flops on the commissions, Homeland Security Dept., etc.
His failures are well documented. They should be part of the message. They should be worked into almost every speech. Some speeches should be just about this: the "switcharo" presidency. But it is his flip-flops that will move the meter.
Front #2: his abuses of power. Pick a few and hammer away. Again, the Kerry camp needs this to be part of as many speeches as possible. He should be calling on Bush to come clean on the Medicare estimate withholding. He should tell everyone who will listen that Americans have a right to know about the energy commissions.
Jobs should be an important part of the message - esp. in states like Ohio and WVa. But making voters tired of Bush ... disgusted at Bush ... annoyed at his smug responses and flip flopping - THAT will win this election.
