I posted it because I was curious as to what happened. (I had posted this in the diary itself, but felt it deserved a more public explanation)
My main reason was that I'd been fairly inactive, yet kept my trusted user rating. I lost my trusted user rating when I started posting a bit more, yet the only ratings I'd gotten at that point had been a (net) 3 or higher.
So it was odd that while I wasn't posting, nothing happened....which seems to rule out "mojo aging".
On the other hand, when I started posting again, I had decent ratings.....which seems to rule out "People hate you all of a sudden".
Searching back through my posts, I don't see a flurry of low-ratings, which rules out "troll activity".
From what I've saw on the original diary (gripes about begging for mojo aside, as I felt that was just a funny way to do the normal "rate this diary" comment. My apologies. In all honesty, I figured that -- as before -- renewed posting would result in it sooner or later) it appears that it is mojo aging, it just doesn't appear to be done the way I thought.
The behavior could be explained if my mojo wasn't recalculated until I started recieving ratings again, thus I was "coasting" on my old ratings. In other words, if I'd simply stayed quiet, I'd still be a trusted user.
Which makes sense, as I doubt anyone would bother to check your mojo constantly....just recheck your status each time you're rated.
I was curious as to how the system worked, and the FAQ is a bit vague on the finer details. Thanks for the information. As a gesture towards those upset with mojo begging, I won't post the usual "rate this" post.
