Does it seem to anyone else besides me that if Kerry picks McCain, that Ralph Nader will see a big bump in the polls? Because I think that a Kerry/McCain ticket, as attractive as it may be, would really drive home Nader's whole "no difference between Dems and Repubs" schtick.
Be that as it may, are we deciding that a Kerry/McCain ticket would more than offset the Nader Factor because of its broad appeal to centrist voters?
And would that be so bad, to jettison the Leaners-Green and moving the Dems more to the center?
If we can still take out Bush, maybe it's a GOOD thing if we can build the Green Party while maintaining Democratic control. That would better represent ALL the lefties...
Last year in New Zealand, for instance, the Greens had about a third of the vote (and about a third of the representatives), the center-left party was in control with well over half, and the conservatives had a relatively tiny amount of the representatives. (This is, of course, reflective of a Parliament system, so we should take it with a grain of salt).
