Some Air America updates.
Air America is coming to Sirius channel 125 in its entirety on April 19. (XM only has a partial Air America lineup.) Sirius also has liberal channel Sirius Left, two NPR channels, World Radio Network, Public Radio International, the BBC, and queer channel Sirius OutQ. Sirius can expect to be investigated as an unreported 527 operation anytime now.
According some listeners, four new stations were announced early on The O'Franken Factor today. It's unclear from these listeners' reports whether these stations are live now or when they'll be coming online. The stations appear to be in Upstate NY, VT, CT, and CO. This isn't confirmed, though.
Two Philadelphia newspapers say WHAT 1340 will soon be running part of Air America's lineup. Also, there is expected to be an announcement April 7 about a San Francisco station that will go live April 15. A Boston station is also rumored.
Steven Colbert co-hosts The Majority Report with Janeane Garofalo tonight, with guests Ed Helms and this guy named Markos Moulitsas Zuniga of some "web log" Internet thingie. Also, Katrina Vanden Huevel, Paul Rudd, and Air America writer Barry Crimmins.
Finally, according to Netscape, Air America was more popular a search term than Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, or Paris Hilton on its Wednesday launch date. Here were the top ten terms:
