Now, clearly Bush & Co. are catering to the Falwell/Robertson types out there with this. Karl Rove seems obsessed with the idea that Bush would've won 2000 if more Christian conservatives came out to vote.
But somehow I have a suspicion this will hurt Bush more than it helps. Porn is a $12 billion industry, by some counts. Fortune 500 corporations are heavily involved in it - in a safely indirect fashion, of course, for PR reasons. And many, MANY of those millions of porn consumers out there are Republican - there are probably more of them, I'd dare say, than there are self-identifying members of the Religious Right. Which leads one to wonder: have they made a serious miscalculation with this one? We can hope, of course ...
