Market update:
2:58PM Floor Talk : while the seemingly inexorable rise in the price of oil, the assassination of the head of Iraq's governing council, and the fallout from India's election initially roiled the mkt, the mkt reacted positively to the news that U.S. troops discovered a roadside bomb filled with the nerve gas sarin, which has the potential to vindicate some of the Bush administration's claim's about Iraq possessing WMD, and in turn could bolster Bush's reelection prospects (whom the mkt clearly favors over Kerry).
So let me get this straight,
The market's a little flustered because a guy was just beheaded, the head of the governing council was murdered, and oil is $42 a barrel, but we can take solace that a canister of Sarin gas might get Bush re-elected?
Is the world retarted?
