After some quick Googling and a few visits to the usual Internet suspects, I was actually surprised that I couldn't find a
Drinking Game especially designed for Bush's speech tonight. If there's one out there (or more than one), post the links. If not -- or, hell, even if there are -- let's make our own up...
There are plenty of useful precedents. Wonkette posted a memorable one for the April Press Conference. Uggabugga, after the same conference, posted a chart full of good material for yet another one. Will Durst published this one, for the State of the Union Address. Even Craig's List got in the game.
So here's my challenge: I've put a short draft together in the the extended comments, just to kick things off. Just add your own comments, pick your favorites from the resulting thread, and voila: a drinking game.
I'll borrow a few (with credits) from some of the earlier drinking games, and then add a few of my own. Every time:
- Bush mentions the liberation of the freedom-loving Iraqi people, the last person to grab his throat in a choking motion has to drink four shots of beer.(Will Durst)
- he condemns those who "hate freedom" . . . 1 drink.(Wonkette)
- Bush hails our brave men and women fighting in Iraq . . . apply for the National Guard, have dental records taken, go to business school. Take as many drinks as you want.(Wonkette)
- Bush mentions "mass graves" or torture rooms" ...
- ...or "Saddam," "threat" or "weapons"
- ...or claims "progress"
- ...or praises Don Rumsfeld...take one drink
- Finally, whenever Bush says "Steadfast" or "tough" or "stay the course" -- show your resolve by finishing your drink.
Cheers....
