To me, establishment is one of those empty epithets like "activist judges". What exactly does it mean? I hear it a lot around here and nobody ever bothers to define the term. I understand that the "establishment" refers to those already in power, but how can ideas be "establishment"? How are some candidates "establishment" and others not even if both are wealthy elected officials?
Someone please explain this stuff to me. Otherwise, I will be forced to conclude that "establishment" simply means "guy (or gal) I don't like" while "progressive" means "guy (or gal) I like".
P.S. I am not trying to be a sarcastic ass; I'm actually curious.
