It's a snarky title, and I'm not going to address the question. But I think it's a proper response to Stern's accusation...
SEIU chief says Dems lack fresh ideas
Andrew L. Stern, the head of the 1.6 million-member Service Employees International Union (SEIU), said in an interview with The Washington Post that both the party and its longtime ally, the labor movement, are "in deep crisis," devoid of new ideas and working with archaic structures.
Well Stern is right on one point. Labor Unions are all out of new ideas and working with archaic structures.
But why does Stern think this failure is the Democrats fault? I've been watching these various labor issues out in the news, and by and large I see the failure is with the Unions. They are totally incapable of making compelling arguments to support their goals.
So I would advise Stern that the easiest way to change things is to change the sphere that you influence. Being the leader of one of the largest Unions, and he damn well ought to be able to redefine his Unions message so that it is viable in today's economy.
Maybe the Dem's do lack fresh ideas on labor, but it is Stern's job to provide those ideas, and it appears he's a miserable failure who likes to blame others for his own shortcomings.
