I imagine there are a lot of voters out there like my mother....not too thrilled by Bush but feel that changing leaders in the middle of a "war" is a bad idea.
Rather than John/John laying out what they'd do to protect us from terrorists, maybe they should reframe the issue. What is it people think Bush does? Surveil the landscape with a spyglass while striking a manly pose? What is it they think Kerry would do? Go on vacation for a month while the CIA has their hair on fire?
I'd like to hear John/John address this. Maybe they should start telling people at their rallies that the people doing the heavy lifting of protecting us (counterterrorism analysts, police, fire, etc.) will remain the same no matter who is leading. If anything, these 2 might hold people accountable for failing to protect us and will definitely put more first responders on the beat.
I just can't see what advantage Bush, the individual, lends to the cause.
