Things are in full-swing here -- a few of today's events follow:
Across Brooklyn, people have been putting blue tarps with messages on their rooftops for the Republicans to see as they fly in:
Brooklyn Welcomes the Republicans!
A group of activists called Operation Sybl draped a tasteful banner welcoming our president from the
facade of the fabled Plaza Hotel, where as they say, nothing unimportant ever happens:
Truth Will Tell at the Plaza
Those pesky diehards from ACT-UP turned a few heads when their nude protest stopped traffic right at the Garden The Naked Truth
Then, the DNC2RNC made its way through the Bronx into Manhattan where they are being escorted by Critical Mass bikers down to the storied St. Mark's Church in the East Village, where Ginsberg howled, no doubt making Stuyvesant (the orginal Law&Order version of Giuliani to be inflicted on our always unruly city) turn over in his grave in the churchyard.
Da Bronx Cheers!
Then, to wrap it all up a Quinnipiac poll showed 71% of New Yorkers support the right of the protesters to protest, and 11% said they plan on protesting -- simple math shows that 11% of 8 million is 880,000.
Off to a good start
