As I said in the open thread, my goal for today is to find the absolute most hilarious take on Zell Miller's speech.
I found it.
"I don't believe we have one speaker who can summon the passion and old-style rhetorical skill that Miller summoned tonight."
This kind of old-style rhetorical skill?
"In a way, it makes me think of Patrick Henry's famous 'give me liberty or give me death' speech."
"My hope is that a lot of undecided voters and a lot of Democrats were watching."
Mine too.
"How could anyone say the Democrats and Kerry care one whit about national security or 'get it' concerning terror and radical Islam after that speech. You'd have to be stark raving mad."
I think he's wrong about who's stark raving mad.
"Zell didn't just hit it out of the ballpark - that ball bounced off the freakin' moon! Just beautiful!"
This is beautiful?[Alert--you might not want to see this picture.]
"I can't see how it can be topped.......what I loved was the indignation of Mr. Miller.......he was Righteously angry........and that is powerful and good. No moral relativism from this ole boy."
No moral anything.
"A stunning speech. This is the stuff that famous speeches history is made of."
That's true.
"Zell seemed a little unhinged to me..."
A little?
UPDATE
Had to add this baby:
"'Zellout is on' is the snarky headline on Kos. Hey Zagunia or whatever your name is, Zell was a Democrat whilst you were a glint in your Daddy's eye....and he was fighting as a Marine years before you were sitting on your backside in a cushy posting in Germany eating hamburgers. And you have the GALL to criticise him?"
