Book: "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands"
by Laura Schlessinger
My amazon.com review: "My Husband is Adorable"
Madame Dr. Laura has told me that my husband is adorable; And she's Right! He is! I love my husband and I would do anything in the world for him, but he was mean to me and made me go out and work during the days and come home and cook dinner at night, feeding the children too. But now Madame Dr. Laura has shown me that my husband is always right! It's true! My life and my husband's life and my children's lives and my children's teacher's lives are all better now. Thank you Madame Dr. Laura!
It turns out that this book is an encomium of useful information for me and all my Gay Couple friends too. Well, I can only tell you about how it has helped me and my husband, but I presume that Lesbian Couples would also benefit from the specific advice here too, like when Madame Dr. Laura tells men to make sure their husbands are allowed to watch football on Sundays while fixing brie and tea cakes for snacks. Go Patriots! This is very good advice, and me and my husband both appreciate it. He fixes me fancy snacks, enjoying his time in the kitchen, while I sit on the couch with my brewski watching TV. I thank G-d that Madame Dr. Laura personally petitioned the courts in Massachusetts to allow us to marry, thus allowing us to fulfill all of Madame Dr. Laura's prescriptions for happiness.
Like in Chapter 4 when she tells us about her friends: "Bob and Nate, who followed my advice and adopted 2 troubled pre-teens, providing them a loving and hospitable home. Now these beautiful children want to grow up and be just like their 2 Dads! It makes me so happy to see my advice create such a happy and healthy home led by some of them gays." (p. 132-3)
I recommend this book for all Gay People everywhere! And Straights might also find some useful advice too, like where Madame Dr. Laura tells an unhappy housefrau in Madison, Wisconsin to "Butch it up a bit." (p.142)
