Tonight, the candidates for the office of Indiana governor debated. This tight race is a classic battle between the forces of good and evil. More in extended copy.
We have an incumbent Democrat, Joe Kernan, who has been largely quiet thus far in the race. Republican challenger Mitch Daniels, having absconded from Washington and his job as Bush's budget director, has spent many months traveling the state in an RV and waging a primary battle that put him in the public eye often. Kenn Gividen, the Libertarian candidate, was also included in the debate.
Specific questions were posed by four journalists from around the state on the BMV, property tax reassessment, minority equity, drug reimportation, I-69 and the manufacturing sector.
I feel largely positive about Kernan's showing in the debate and I want to compare this reaction, as well as additional responses to the debate, with others.
