Just something to think about with the Time poll that just came out, but why on earth would a news organization want an accurate poll? If you constantly have an outlier and your poll shows wild fluctuations then you get massive attention and your poll gets linked to over and over. If you have an accurate poll that just shows what everyone else's does then you barely get a mention. Even if your polling is completely wrong today it does not look bad even if the other side comes out ahead because all you are claiming is that it is a snapshot and isn't a prediction of victory. Even close to the election where your poll can be considered a prediction, only the most hardcore people have any idea of which polls tend to be accurate. For everyone else you are a genius when you have their guy ahead and horribly biased if their guy is losing. Just keep in mind when you see outlier polls that its somewhat likely that the pollsters know they are putting out a lousy snapshot and simply do not care.
