Why is it that criticism and attacks only seem to stick to Democrats?
Bush's entire Administration has been dogged by scandal after scandal and lie after lie. They are too numerous and frustrating to recount here in any detail, but as we are all aware, many of the lies and scandals destroy Bush's "credibility" on national security and military affairs. He hasn't delivered on anything he promised. He has divided the nation and the world. He has led us into the wrong war without a plan to lead us back out. The rich are getting richer while the middle class is shrinking and the poor are getting poorer (of course). No health care for an ever increasing number of Americans and lower paying jobs for all.
With all this, nothing sticks in the minds of the swing voters but baseless attacks on the ONLY candidate in the Presidential election who understands what it truly means to sacrifice and serve.
If we elect this jackass for a second term, America will truly get what it deserves. Thomas Jefferson once warned of the effects of ignorance, apathy and just plain stupidity on the health of our republic. His fears weren't original, but he seemed to feel very strongly about them. Now, in the midst of the disinformation age, we are finally living up to his worst nightmares.
Consider the following breakdown of Americans:
50% don't vote
25% vote Republican
25% vote Democrat
Of course, these numbers are over simplified, but they aren't too far off the mark. So, despite our best efforts and our superior arguments and logical policies, roughly 75% of America finds itself in one of two groups:
1.) Those who don't care about the abuses of the Bush Administration
2.) Those who support the abuses of the Bush Administration and wish for more of the same
My girlfriend sometimes says that nothing is irreversible. I usually agree with her, but with the influence this jackass (I can't even bring myself to say his name anymore) would have on the SCOTUS, we could very well be looking at the beginning of the end of our democracy if he wins in November. It won't be dramatic. It will die a slow death - withering away until there's nothing left, right under the noses of 75% of the people.
One final question regarding the recent polls and the depressing numbers they are spewing. If anyone could possibly change their mind from undecided to pro-Bush on the basis of some cheap moderate talk at the RNC, why do we expect that they will change their minds back to Kerry?
