I wanted to post an observation I made when I flipped over to Fox News for a few minutes last night and caught Swift Boat Liar-in-Chief John O'Neill on the "O'Reilly Factor". Towards the end of the exchange he made a statement that absolutely floored me and which I think should be trumpeted by every riposte to these guys. Talking about Kerry's Vietnam testimony 30 years ago and how some vets claim to have been upset by it, there followed this exchange (quoting from memory):
O'Reilly: What if Kerry had just apologized?
O'Neill: Bill, if Joh Kerry had just apologized for those remarks 30 years ago, I probably wouldn't be here today, nor would most of the SBVT. But now it's too late for that.
Hey wait a minute, John -- if all it would have taken was an "apology" years ago, doesn't that prove that all your criticism of Kerry now has absolutely nothing to do with his ability to lead the country or his veracity about his record, but instead is nothing more than you playing out your petty vendetta because your personal feelings were hurt?
