How satisfying. My house will probably get fire-bombed, but hey, such is the price of speaking up, right? I'm glad my phone number is unlisted.
Miller reveals nature of GOP (their title)
"It's ironic that it took a turncoat Democrat to show the country just what the Republicans are up to. Theirs is the politics of hate, and Miller's speech demonstrated rabid hatred better than any dyed-in-the-wool Republican ever could."
more below the fold...
"I remember the days when Republicans were fiscal conservatives, small-government disciples - people who believed in the same America I cherish, but in a different means to the same end. We used to be able to disagree amiably. But it seems that to be a good Republican these days, you have to believe that your leader is appointed by God, and that anyone who dares speak up against you is a traitor, or at worst, a heretic. If Miller is to be believed, it is our Christian duty to subdue any nation that does not kowtow to us.
"I submit that our great nation believes in the inalienable right to self-determination. Democracy spreads by example, not by jackboot."
Yeah, it's a little melodramatic. But on reading the LTEs our paper publishes, I figured the sensational had a better chance of publication. Too bad now I have to sit on my hands for 30 days before I can get another in.
