I'm still new to the game--but trying hard. Thanks for comments some how it got repeated. Here's the rest.
have to say it was a thrill to be able to directly address my Senators in a public forum, but, I wasn't about to let them off the hook. For a week I was trying to decide what and how to ask my question. I wanted something that both men could address. As much as I wanted it to be elections I decided to take aim on the war and use the lackluster support of troops to paint the right as the hypocrites they are. Once I got there and saw my opportunity I quickly realized that It had to be election fraud! continued...
! I quickly scribbled some main points from memory and was pleasantly surprised to realize how truly in-depth I have gotten on this issue. Now, after the patriotic interruption, I was about to rock the mic! "First I would once again like to thank the senators for taking part in in these bi-partisan town town-hall meetings . Senator Smith mentioned at the beginning of this meeting how he would like to work in a bi-partisan manner with Senator Wyden, well, I would like to address an issue that all Americans who believe democracy and liberty should agree on, and that is free and fair elections!!" ( applause). "I have been following this situation since Nov. 2 and have researched it very deeply and have found egregious situations over and over almost exclusively benefiting pres. bush. From long lines to misinformation to intimidation as well as partisan elections officials and lack of a paper trail. Not to mention the 101 page conyers report. It seems clear to me , and I'm just some schmo, that there was something shady going on. I would like to especially point to sec. Of state Ken Blackwell and his partitcipation in these actions. It is un-American and directly in conflict with the ideals of liberty and justice not to stand for free and fair elections." (applause). "I would like to commend the 33 representatives and one brave Senator, Barbara Boxer of California for forcing a debate (applause). Voice rising, "fair elections are the foundation, the very fibers of our democracy! When you were asked to heed the call of democracy, I'm sorry, but you guys weren't there. Could you please comment on that" (huge applause!). The response was lackluster (article) and the bottom line is neither voted against fraud (though Wyden did express reservations in the debate). I felt such a rush in questioning these guys, it was very empowering. After one more question ( a rather pointed statement about corporations buying politicians) the meeting adjourned. Several people came up and thanked me for the question asked said I was simply asking a question and expressed that I am glad it came out at the meeting ( though I'm shure my excitement was palpable). I exchanged E-mail add. With a few people. But it gets better.
On my way out I bumped shoulders with the recently defeated republican congressional candidate from Oregons 3rd district, Jim Feldcamp. Feldcamp, a total pretty boy, ran a very negative campaign against incumbent Dem. Pete DeFazio in which DeFazio was re-elected in resounding fashion. DeFazio is truly one of the most stand-up guys in national politics and Feldy's smears were out of line. To top it off the night before the election Feldy guys went around and slathered there signs on every on and off ramp, corner, or strip of public property in blatant violation of city code on signs. SO....... I say " hey Jim",(big smile like I'm his bro) "what happened with the sign clean-up?". Puzzled look from jim, "signs?". "Yeah remember the night before the elections, your guys went out and slathered your signs on every on and off ramp in town?" (sarcasm thickening). Feldy responds "It was a pretty crazy night" as if he didn't know"."Man, I had to clean up a dozen myself !". "What did u do with the signs " trying to impugn me. "Dropped em' off at the local republican office" ( too slow jimbo! lol). "I'm shure you'll get em' next time!" (sarcasm so thick you could eat it with a spoon with Donavan McNabb!). This initiated subdued laughter amongst my fellow patriots. Literally the cherry on top!
I urge all patriots to get involved personally and directly in the democratic process. The future is ours, but we have to stand and take it. Go to a meeting, get involved locally and make a change!!!!!----
